Admission Process

Becoming a resident

We believe that making the correct decisions and taking appropriate action at the time of a referral and admission is the key to a happy stay at St Martins.

We understand that the process of getting you/your loved one a place at your preferred care home can seem daunting and complicated so we aim to keep our admission process for potential residents and their families as easy, transparent and friendly as possible.

We accept both local authority referrals and self-referrals and we have a simple 3 step process for admission:

Step 1: Call us first about any vacancies at the home. Speak to our care home manager about your needs/the needs of your relative.

Step 2: Decide how you will fund your care/the care of your relative. We accept residents who are under contract from social services and the local authority as well as residents who will pay for their own care. If you are unsure, please contact your local authority.

Step 3: If we have a space available and we can meet your care needs, we will make the necessary arrangements to admit you or your relative into the home.

We suggest a pre-admission visit to see the home for yourself and also offer every prospective resident a trial stay.

“I would like to say thank you to the wonderful Manager and care staff at St Martins care home for helping my Mum settle in so well and for all your wonderful care and hard work.

It is lovely hearing my Mum so happy and enjoying life again. I am looking forward to visiting soon. Thank you.”
